Back to School

After working all summer at Gregg's Cycles in Bellevue, I am happy to be back in school and living in Bellingham. Here are a few things I have been up to over the last couple weeks:

Last weekend's Starcrossed and Rapha/Focus GP cyclocross races were lot of fun. Both days featured superstars of the sport from around the world. It was really cool to have the opportunity to race at such a high level so close to home. I had a great race on saturday, finishing 18th. Sunday was going well for the first couple laps, but I blew up hard and went backwards before being pulled.

Last tuesday Whitney and I hiked Yellow Aster Butte in the North Cascades. The pictures speak for themselves:

    The North Cascades are just stunning. They make the I-90 corridor seem dull in comparison. Nice photos, especially those from Mt. Larrabee. Is the orange tube in the following photo an ice axe? http://www.flickr.com/photos/wetzell/4905682324/sizes/l/in/set-72157624754898092/

    Whoa, Josh! Good to hear from you! The North Cascades are stunning indeed! Yes, that is an ice axe in the pic. I did that Larrabee hike/scramble last summer. There were some snowfields but I really didn't need the ice axe... Are you still living in the Seattle area? You should email me at loganwetzel@gmail.com if you ever want to go for a hike or grab a beer or anything. I am back in school in Bellingham now, but am down south often for races... Take care!
